Youth

C1 Youth is a group of young people between the 8th and 12th grades who seek to know God and know our whole selves within God’s story. We want any and all to be part of our program.  It doesn’t matter who you are; we seek to be inclusive and affirming of all.  Though we don’t always get it right, we always seek to learn more.

C1 Youth Summer Activities

Throughout the summer our youth program stays active through various mission trips and retreats. We participate in the Ozark Mission Project (UMC Resources Page to learn more), we have spiritual renewal retreats, and mystery trips. All these are funded by our 1610 investment plan sponsored by members of the congregation. We don’t want any youth to be unable to participate in our program because of financial need!

Want to be part of a trip or an event? Fill out this Medical release form and return it to Zach Schrick, Director of Youth ministries.

A time on Wednesdays after school (3.30 pm –  5.15 pm) to gather with other youth and relax, do homework, & eat snacks

A bible study where the world and the Bible collide.

All Volunteers are Safe Gatherings Certified. This is a training and approval process we ask all volunteers who work with children, youth, and vulnerable adults to complete before working in our varied ministries.  It ensures safe spaces for kids and adults.

In the Curriculum and Learning Secction

We use a rotation Sunday School model where our kids walk their way through the Bible in various stations such as story time, cooking class, art, and more! Come experience the fun of the Sunday Morning Children’s program!

An informal gathering time centered around fellowship with one another around coffee, smoothies, and breakfast which meets on Thursday mornings during the School year in the Great Hall Entry.

One of our goals is to help students understand the Christian faith and learn to apply it in their daily life.  Over time, we’ve developed a trajectory or pathway for that learning which you can see outlined below.  We keep this consistent pattern of curriculum to help our youth have a well-grounded faith.

8th Grade – Old Testament

9th Grade – New Testament

10th Grade – Foundational Methodist History & Theology/World Religions

11th – 12th Grades – Practical Conversations about Life Application of Faith

Safe Gatherings is a program we participate in as part of the larger United Methodist Church in Arkansas that helps to screen and train Adult volunteers who work with children, youth, and vulnerable adults.  We want to ensure our learning environments are the safe places for our most vulnerable. Thus, if you want to volunteer in one of these programs, we require you to go through the Safe Gatherings process.

With Your Money!

The 1610 Investment Plan is a great way to support your C1 Youth program and Mid Youth program. Below you will find information for how to become a 1610 supporter.  Basically, we invite you to be a monthly contributor of $16.10.  These funds ensure that no matter who walks in our doors, the student can fully participate in all our retreats, trips and programs.

There are a number of ways you can sign up.  You can download and return the New Investment Form to the church office. You can also fill out an online form or set up a direct draft.

If you are currently an investor that is giving through a direct draft or other means, thank you! If you need to make adjustments or like to give more through your current means of giving, let us know by contacting the Church office!
