Care Giver Ministry

“There are only four kinds of people in this world: those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers and those who will need caregivers.”

— Rosalyn Carter, Remarks made at the opening of the Rosalyn Carter Institute for Caregivers at Georgia Southwestern State University

Caring Connections: memory care, respite and support

This ministry supports care givers by providing monthly respite care programs for loved ones with dementia/cognitive decline, and informal opportunities for care givers to socialize with others or take time for self-care.  “Caregiver Connect” socials and “Respite Activity Sessions” occur simultaneously on 3rd Tuesdays from 10am – 12noon, with quarterly 30-minute educational programs for caregivers in January, April, July and October. The long-term goal is to facilitate an ecumenical volunteer-based network of care giver support and respite among churches in our area.
